” When I was a boy —- my father taught me that compassion was a weakness. The good were not always as pure as they seemed. And yet the supposed evil were always black hearted and cruel. ….My father was not a kind man, you see. ———-But I was a determined child. I never could please him properly. ”

Seth might not have been very intelligent—not when it came to books and facts, grammatical correctness or the assessment of political satires. No, he was not very smart—but he was exceedingly compassionate and willing to give himself to anybody that he deemed worthy of acceptance. And to him, that was everybody. Everybody.
He wholeheartedly believed that good nature, was what founded society. Sure he’d been made partisan to his emotions in the past, he’d snapped, griped at Leah even—and he had whined about the inconsequential and more trivial commodities of life. In the end of it all, he remained a beacon of hope for those that had lost their happiness. There is a certain enthusiasm in liberty, that makes human nature rise above itself, in acts of bravery and heroism. And that, I believe, is what makes a true hero. Because quality of life ————- ———— is more significant than the longevity of it.
