[     It was a wolf, but it didn’t look like the one who was the cousin of a human’s best friend. No, this one was huge —- it’s fur a sandy blonde color, one she had never seen before. The animal was not something she had ever seen before. And she had seen a lot, vampires, werewolfs, witches, doppelgängers, hybrids and even ghosts —- but this was definitely a new one. ]

[ That she didn’t want to even taste from. Bunnies were unappealing and this thing practically looked like a werewolf at the full moon and that would be like eating Tyler. To add it to that, Care smelled the wind carrying the very faint smell of human coming from it —- it reminded her a bit about Tyler’s dog smell.  ]

A growl interrupted the air, taking the silence with it. Looking up green eyes became fearful. Breaths became slow and she could only stare at the beast who seemed to somehow know something was out their watching it.    ]

“—-….And I’m going crazy, since I’m talking to a wolf.”
”Who maybe didn’t hear me and maybe  just growled at a bunny.”
”—- Who then probably died of a heart attack.”

[ The flaw of stress talking as not a good thing to possess in that moment. ]

                                                        He was apprehensive, at best.
There was a part of Seth that made him want to call her into question, transfigure himself even at a standstill and interrogate her like Embry had with the men and the women of the dead —– all of it in the past. There was a part of him that wanted to succumb to his own reverberation, physically pull himself out of skin and shake the fur off of his spine like dirt off the earth from the mane of a lion; he wasn’t particularly certain of how marginal or significant this part of him was–but he knew that appearances were things that  ( more often than notdeceived and deluded others into suspending their disbelief. People have said that brain research tells us that only twenty percent of human beings have a sense of irony, which means that eighty percent of the world and its aggregate population takes everything at face value.

That wasn’t to say that Seth had become impervious to the implications of obverse impressions or the more jaundiced opinions of those that devote their entire lives to them; most people described Seth as an effervescent boy with an incessant need to adhere to his own naivety—he was ingenuous, gullible, innocent. But there was a piece of information that transcended these characteristics–advice, even–that Harry had provided him before his time. He said to trust not too much to appearances, that judgement prevent us from seeing the good that lies beyond appearances.

                                                             She sure looked the part.
                                                             ——— Non-threatening.
He might have even said that she looked like a barbie.
                                                                 A barbie with fangs.

His own molars locked together like cast-iron deadbolt; his lips lifted before his ears did.
